True Trail Mix
Most trail mixes have tons of nuts with a bit of raisins or other dried fruit. While tasty, they can leave you thirsty, still hungry and like you have a lump in your stomach. This simple raw trail mix provides a mix of dried and fresh ingredients to help you feel light, satiated and energetic.
(Serves 1 – 2)
8 Medjool dates (.4 lb, 180g)
Dried golden mulberries (1 cup, 160 g)
Raisins (1 cup, 166 g)
7 stalks celery (.5 lb, 230 g)
Pit and loosely chop Medjool dates into peanut-sized pieces, mix with mulberries and raisins. Dice celery into ¼ inch bits and mix in well.
This is great in a bag taken on a hike, a movie, while travelling or even in a big water bottle with some water, as well. A little goes a long way and satisfies for a long while. Leaving one stick of celery whole to eat at the end is a good tip for cleaning your teeth. (1,000 calories)
