We like how you think. Spread the word on Toast.

We’re looking for journalists and established writers who love to dig deep and create engaging and interesting content with a feel-good vibe. Please note we don’t accept unsolicited submissions, but we always welcome pitches for story ideas. We require 3 writing samples from reputable media outlets with all pitches.

General submission guidelines

Pitch a story angle, not a topic.
- Your pitch should answer these questions: Why this idea, and why now? Who are your planned sources? What research will you use?
Familiarize yourself with our publication.
- How is your pitch tailored to toast readers? How is it different from other stories we’ve already covered on the topic? Which category does it fit into? Why are you the person to write it for our specific audience?
Provide details on imagery.
- What imagery can you provide? We require high-quality photography for each article.
Provide 2-3 writing samples.
- Send us articles from journalism outlets to give us a feel for your writing style.
Pitch via email.
- We only accept pitches via email.

Thank you so much for your interest in toast. Given the volume of submissions and pitches we receive, we are not always able to respond to each one. If you haven’t heard back from us within 2-4 weeks, feel free to pitch your idea elsewhere. All pitches should be emailed to contact@mytoastlife.com. No follow-up emails, please.
