Halloween is creeping around the corner, and that can only mean one thing: costume time! According to the National Retail Federation, 65% of Americans plan to celebrate Halloween this year — and that includes dressing up their dogs, cats or other furry friends in adorable costumes. Their survey found that one in five Americans intend to dress up their pet for Halloween this year.

We wanted to make sure you’re prepared with some of the best dog Halloween costumes for 2021. From heroes to classics, and Disney sidekicks, we’ve found eight amazing costumes for your furry friend.

The Most Adorable Dog Halloween Costumes for 2021

  1.     UPS Delivery Driver

There’s nothing better than an ironic Halloween costume, and what better option for your dog than the a UPS delivery driver? Chances are your dog will recognize the costume thanks to the surge in home deliveries during the pandemic.

2.     Your Favorite Disney Sidekick

Your dog is already the perfect sidekick so why not continue that during spooky season? Pick out your favorite Disney animal sidekick and create a “couples” Halloween costume! We like the idea of going as Ariel and Flounder. Here’s an adorable Flounder costume from the Disney store.

3.     A Dynamic Duo

Have more than one dog to dress up? Why not make them a dynamic duo like Genie and Abu from Aladdin?

4.     Captain America

Let’s be honest — our dogs are our heroes, and they deserve to be recognized as such. So for Halloween why not dress your dog as the ultimate hero with a Captain America costume? Here’s one from Baxter Boo.

5.     Dinosaur

Depending on where you live, by the time Halloween rolls around the weather can cool down quite a bit. You’ll want to make sure your dog is comfortable and cute in their costume. The best option? A cozy dinosaur sweater. Here’s the one in the picture, and another option from PetitDogApparel.

6.     Pumpkin

According to the National Retail Federation survey, a pumpkin is the most popular costume choice for pet lovers. Snag one for that cute pumpkin patch photoshoot. Baxter Boo has a cute option. Just make sure they don’t run off or you might have a pumpkin hunt on your hands.

7.     Ghost

Another classic costume like the pumpkin, you can never go wrong with a ghost. Whether you’re going for a cute “Casper the Friendly Ghost” look, or something more menacing, you can DIY the costume from a sheet or buy one online.

8.     Avocado

If you’re a millennial, you’re likely sick of the avocado toast stereotype. So why not play into the joke with an avocado costume for your beloved pet. We like this one from chewy.com. Dress yourself up as a piece of toast, and you’re all set!
