Ever since exploding onto the scene through his roles in films like Interstellar, Lady Bird and of course, the Oscar-winning love story, Call Me by Your Name, Timothée Chalamet has been stealing our hearts in more ways than one. Born in Manhattan to an artistic family, Chalamet has had a penchant for the performing arts from a young age, and his passion for acting shines through in everything he does.
His career has really taken off in recent years, with major roles in Little Women, Beautiful Boy and most recently, Denis Villeneuve’s production of Dune, the epic sci-fi fantasy based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert.
Why We’re Die-Hard Timothée Chalamet Fans
There are several reasons to be a fan of the 26-year-old talent, but here are a few that stand out from the rest:
1. Timothée Chalamet Is Fully Bilingual
Chalamet’s father was born in France, and as a result, he spent many summers there as a youngster. He holds dual American and French citizenship, and he’s perfectly fluent in both languages. Needless to say, listening to Timothée Chalamet speak French is a spiritual experience.
2. He Used to Be a Rapper Called Lil Timmy Tim
Back in his school days, Chalamet was a rapper who went by the name of “Lil Timmy Tim.” A video of him rapping about statistics has garnered almost 10 million views on YouTube, which makes us wonder what could have been if he had decided to pursue a career in music instead of acting.

4. He Seems Like He’d Be a Really Good Friend
Chalamet has developed some genuine friendships over his years in the business. He formed a friendship with Fault in Our Stars actor Ansel Egort while attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School (AKA the Fame School), and he has also become close with many of his co-stars, including Euphoria star Zendaya, who was his co-star on Dune, and Saoirse Ronan, who played “Jo” alongside Chalamet in Little Women.
5. Timothée Chalamet Is a Humanitarian
We always like to see celebrities using their platform to do good in the world. Late last year, Chalamet posted on his Instagram announcing that he and fashion designer Haider Ackermann had collaborated on a hoodie to help raise funds for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
“Together, in August, we were horrified to learn of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and decided to design a hoodie where 100% of the proceeds will go to @afghanistanlibre : a relief organization with boots on the ground that fights to safeguard women’s and children’s rights – as those atrocities continue to spread, we should amplify the voices of those silent soldiers,” he wrote in the caption.
