Romantic movie concept. Happy Valentines day. Clapperboard, hearts, sweets, confetti on pink table. Flat lay, top view.

Whether you’re in a relationship or single this Valentine’s Day, getting cozy and watching some romantic movies can be a great way to spend the holiday. Curl up with some blankets, snacks and of course, your significant other or best gal pals for a lovely evening in.

Finding the perfect romantic flick for Valentine’s Day can be challenging, especially if you’ve seen all the best ones at least twice. The key is to find a movie that hits all the components of a great romance (drama, tragedy, comedic relief, hunky actors, to name a few), but one that you and your fellow viewers haven’t seen too many times before.

The Best Movies to Watch on Valentine’s Day

With an endless number of hilarious romcoms, classic love stories and beloved epic romances available to stream today, it can be tough to choose just one to watch. To help you out with your search, here are some of the best movies to watch on Valentine’s Day that will make you feel all the feels:

1. Valentine’s Day

It wouldn’t be a proper roundup of Valentine’s Day movies if we didn’t mention the movie named after the holiday, right? Taking on a similar multi-story format to Love Actually, this flick featuring an all-star cast including Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Taylor Swift, Patrick Dempsey and more will get you in the mood for love day.

2. 50 Shades of Grey

If you’re looking for Valentine’s Day movies that are on the sexier side, 50 Shades of Grey is your best bet. Grab some popcorn, a glass of wine and enjoy the steamy sex scenes. Plus, if you’re in the mood for a marathon, you can enjoy the next two films in the series afterwards: Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

3. Call Me by Your Name

Whether you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community or not, there’s no denying that the critically acclaimed film Call Me by Your Name is a love story for the ages. Featuring Hollywood heartthrob Timothée Chalamet and set in beautiful Italy, this romantic flick will transport you to another time and place altogether (it might also make you look at peaches differently forever, so, don’t say we didn’t warn you).

4. Isn’t It Romantic

In the mood for a movie that’s a little lighter this Valentine’s Day? Isn’t It Romantic featuring the ever-hilarious Rebel Wilson and the ultra-hunky Liam Hemsworth will having you falling off your chair laughing. In the film, Wilson’s character hits her head and wakes up to find herself stuck in the kind of sappy romcom movie she hates. Hilarity ensues, of course.

5. Crazy, Stupid, Love

This romcom classic featuring Emma Stone, Steve Carrell and the unbelievably charming Ryan Gosling will hit you right in the feels every time. Even if you’ve seen it already, this movie is always worth a re-watch, especially for Valentine’s Day.

6. The Last Song

Also featuring Australian heartthrob Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus, The Last Song is the perfect mushy romance to watch on Valentine’s Day (fun fact, the formerly married pair actually met on the set of this film, so you know they have great chemistry). Plus, the movie is based on the novel by famed romance author Nicholas Sparks, so you can use it as a gateway film to watch even more of the author’s popular romance films afterwards like Dear John, The Choice and of course, The Notebook.

7. Hitch

In case you’re finding yourself struggling to find love in today’s dating landscape, the classic 2005 romcom Hitch should help you feel less alone. The movie, featuring Will Smith and Eva Mendes, tells the story of a debonair dating coach who finds himself tongue-tied when he falls in love with a gorgeous reporter.
