State of Our Democracy: Role of Business in Texas

Published on April 22, 2021

April 23rd at 12 PM CT.

Hosted by Leadership Now Project, this is an event by and for the business community, focusing on how business can act to protect democracy at this critical moment. Just as Leadership Now co-hosted more than 100 CEOs on Saturday to discuss voting rights, we hope to engage the TX business community in working to protect and renew democracy in TX and across the US.

Texas, which was one of the most difficult states to vote in 2020, also ranked 44th in voter turnout – how can business leaders be a part of the movement to improve democracy in Texas? What are the risks if we continue with business as usual?

Please register here to receive the Zoom link ahead of the event.

Event speakers include:

  • Jeronimo Cortina, a co-author of “Red State, Blue State, Rich State, Poor State: Why Americans Vote the Way They Do” and award-winning political science professor at the University of Houston;
  • Dan Vallone, US Director of More in Common;
  • Daniella Ballou-Aares, CEO of The Leadership Now Project;
  • and Bryan Sanchez, a Houston-based CEO and co-chair of Leadership Now’s Houston Chapter
